Today in 1974 was the very first TubaChristmas. The founder, music professor, Harvey Phillips, thought the tuba deserved more credit. So he organized a gathering at Rockefeller Plaza Ice Rink in New York where tuba players could ring in – or blow in? – the holidays with their beloved instruments.

YouTuba-er Scott Sutherland has brought together 229 tuba and euphonium players in 21 countries through technology for a virtual holiday medley. Some of them look like Santa. Some of them are named Kringle! All of them play really well.
